Responsibilities
The Clurman lab is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to study molecular pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies associated with two promising cell‑cycle targets in head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC), Wee1 and CDK4/6.
This position is primarily based in the Clurman lab but offers collaborative opportunities with other Fred Hutch research groups within the HNSCC team, including Taran Gujral, Slobodan Beronja, and Patrick Paddison.
Core responsibilities include designing and executing a broad array of cell and molecular biology experiments, including high‑throughput functional genomics and drug screening, gene expression analyses in tissue‑culture cells, and the use of murine models of cancer and genomics/proteomics. The role requires independent research project development and the ability to lead collaborations.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD, M.D., or M.D., Ph.D. (or equivalent) in cell and molecular biology, cancer biology, biochemistry, or a related field
- Broad expertise in cell and molecular biology methods with the ability to master new techniques and approaches
- Experience with mouse models and xenografting preferred
- Experience in functional genomics and/or drug screening preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Record of productive research, including at least one primary publication in an impactful peer‑reviewed journal
- Ability to independently plan, conduct, and analyze research
The annual base salary range is $80,172 to $95,014, contingent on experience and qualifications.
This position is not eligible for H‑1B sponsorship at this time.
