Research Scientist, Clinical Research, Biomedical Science
This position will work within the Kaushansky laboratory at the Center for Global Infectious Disease Research at Seattle Children's Research Institute. The scientist will be part of an interdisciplinary team and split their time between lab management responsibilities and working on a project that seeks to identify host targets that regulate malaria infection. This project will engage both in vitro and in vivo systems, and the scientist will be involved in planning and conducting both types of experiments (e.g., mammalian cell culture, mouse models).
The ideal candidate will work well as part of a team, maintain adherence to project timelines, and ensure accurate and timely delivery of experimental results to the team.
More generally, Research Scientist II are responsible for independently evaluating, selecting and applying standardized scientific procedures and techniques; contributes to the planning, design, execution and interpretation of experiments; makes detailed observations, records and analyzes data, and assists in preparation of reports, manuscripts, presentations and grant proposals; presents results/papers at technical meetings; may participate in the training/mentoring of junior staff.
Required Education And Experience- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline; may require a Master's Degree for certain lab specialties.

- Significant experience conducting research in area of specialization.
- Some experience with laboratory management.
$32.07 - $48.11 per hour
Salary InformationThis compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
