Research Scientist, Clinical Research
Job Description
The Cellular Therapy Thematic Research Center is a leading research engine focused on engineered cell‑based therapies that harness immune cells to mediate anti‑tumor activity in hematology, solid cancers and autoimmune diseases. The Translational Biology team seeks a creative and driven Associate Scientist or Senior Associate Scientist to advance our portfolio of cell therapies in early clinical trials. Key responsibilities include developing non‑clinical data packages for product mechanistic insights, potential combination therapies, identifying new indications for our clinical‑stage assets, and supporting manufacturing processes/platforms.
The candidate will conduct laboratory‑based experiments to study mechanism of action and drug combination strategies that aim to improve durable patient responses. Familiarity with mammalian cell culture, in‑vitro functional assays, and, ideally, clinical samples and CAR‑T evaluation is required. Flow cytometry experience is highly preferable. The role requires close collaboration with senior researchers to execute studies, analyze data, and communicate results timely in a team‑oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Interrogate primary human material; handle cell culture studies
- Perform CAR‑T cell phenotypic analysis using flow cytometry and in‑vitro functional evaluation using T cell/Tumor co‑culture assays
- Assess cytotoxic activity using Incu Cyte
- Measure cytokine assessments using MSD and intracellular cytokine production by flow cytometry
- Collaborate with scientists to design, perform, and optimize in‑vitro experiments
- Maintain notebooks with detailed documentation of protocols, study designs, and results
- Analyze and interpret data
- Organize findings for effective communication to supervisors, colleagues, and at external conferences
- Associate Scientist: B.S. in biological science, immunology, or related discipline with 2 years of relevant academic or industry experience
- Senior Associate Scientist: B.S. in biological science, immunology, or related discipline with 4 years of relevant work experience, or M.S. with 2 years of work experience
- Experience with in‑vitro cell‑based assays and primary cell culture
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and present scientific data clearly
- Strong organization, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to expand skill sets through independent learning and collaboration
- Working knowledge of clinical samples, human T‑cells, and CAR‑T functional assays
- Experience with high‑parameter FACS (10‑15 colors)
- Prior experience writing method‑development protocols
- Ability to recognize potential problems and recommend/develop appropriate solutions
