Overview
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.
Responsibilities- Tissue culture maintenance
- Antibody screening
- Multi-color flow cytometry assays
- Restock lab supplies and reagents
- Learn lab processes and follow directions
- Maintain thorough, organized records
- Demonstrate initiative to improve skills while contributing to shared research goals
- An individual research project will be encouraged
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated scientific knowledge in the area of study
- Demonstrated basic laboratory skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework
- A basic understanding of stem cell biology and antibodies
- Experience with mammalian cell line culturing, including stem cells and/or PDX models
- Experience with multi-color flow cytometry
- Experience with molecular biology techniques including cloning, DNA purification and immunoassays
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Research Technician I: The hourly pay range for this position is from $23.33 to $33.21 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
Research Technician II: The hourly pay range for this position is from $27.01 to $38.45 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
