The Ranish Group is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research investigating the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms underlying hematopoietic stem cell differentiation and how defects in the process lead to diseases such leukemia and b-thalassemia. To accomplish this goal, the lab is developing mass spectrometry-based technologies to quantify the transcription factor proteome in purified populations of differentiating erythroid cells. The data is being integrated with other transcription-relevant
-omics data to model the transcriptional regulatory networks underlying hematopoiesis. The models are then used to guide experiments to understand how specific transcription factors drive cell fate decisions. The successful applicant will be expected to design, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot the experiments.
This position is contingent upon funding expected to be received around July 2026.
Key responsibilities- Development and application of mass spectrometry-based proteomics technologies
- Recombinant protein expression and purification
- Molecular biology assays
- Discuss and present research at internal meetings
- Manuscript preparation
- PhD in analytical chemistry or biomedical sciences (e.g., molecular/cellular biology or biochemistry).
- Strong interest in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and gene regulation.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, work efficiently and independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Expected annual pay is $80,169.
