The Clurman lab is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. The project will study molecular pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies associated with two promising cell cycle targets in head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC), Wee1 and CDK4/6. Primarily based in the Clurman lab, this position also provides the opportunity to work collaboratively with other Fred Hutch research groups within the HNSCC team, including Taran Gujral (machine learning-enabled drug screening), Slobodan Beronja (mouse models of HNSCC), and Patrick Paddison (functional genomics).
This work will encompass a broad array of cell and molecular biology approaches, including high-throughput functional genomics and drug screening, gene expression and analyses in tissue culture cells, murine models of cancer, and genomics/proteomics. We value lab members who are highly collaborative but can also independently develop and guide research projects.
Minimum qualifications:
- PhD, M.D., or M.D., Ph. D (or equivalent degree) in cell and molecular biology, cancer biology, biochemistry, or a related field
- Broad expertise in cell and molecular biology methods and the ability to master new techniques and approaches
- Experience with mouse models and xenografting is preferred
- Experience in functional genomics and/or drug screening also preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Record of productive and rigorous research, including at least one primary publication in an impactful peer-reviewed journal
- Ability to independently plan, conduct, and analyze research.
The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $95,014, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
