The M. Dhodapkar lab is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Staff Scientist to lead research on immune therapies and immune function in cancer patients, focusing on interactions between cancer and the immune system in the setting of precursor states and clinical malignancy, particularly multiple myeloma. The position will involve developing and testing new immune therapies, including in vivo approaches for T‑cell redirection and novel targets for CAR‑T or bispecifics, using mouse models and high‑dimensional immune assays.
Responsibilities- Handle projects independently, including literature reviews, experimental design, and data analysis under the guidance of the laboratory PI.
- Contribute to the preparation of research reports, publications, and oral presentations.
- Participate in opportunities for presentations at scientific conferences and symposiums.
- PhD and/or MD in a relevant field (immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, computational biology, or related fields).
- Track record of productive research with high‑quality publications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player with strong aptitude for collaboration, particularly with bioinformaticians and clinical collaborators.
- Experience in immunology and animal models/handling (mice) is essential.
- Additional experience in flow cytometry, viral vectors, single‑cell transcriptomics, gene editing, molecular biology, proteomics, immunohistochemistry, and/or microscopy is a plus.
The annual base salary range for this position is from $84,406 to $191,755, and pay will be based on experience and qualifications.
This position may be eligible for relocation assistance. Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H‑1B visas at this time, but candidates who already hold an H‑1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible.
