Senior AI Research Engineer

I’m partnering with a leading AI research institute in Seattle on a Senior Research Engineer hire, working on frontier open-source language and multimodal models.

This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants to build at serious scale, contribute to research systems used by the wider AI community, and work alongside a team pushing open, reproducible AI forward.

The role sits close to large language models, multimodal systems, model training, evaluation, infrastructure, and applied research engineering. You’ll be building the tooling, experiments, systems, and research code that help move state-of-the-art models from idea to release.

They’re looking for someone with:

• Strong Python and modern ML engineering experience
• Hands-on work with deep learning, LLMs, multimodal models, or large-scale training systems
• The ability to operate between research and production-quality engineering
• Experience building reliable infrastructure, research tooling, or model development pipelines
• A genuine interest in open-source AI and high-quality research practice
