Post-Doctoral Fellow Opportunity
The Jaspan lab at the Center for Global Infectious Disease Research at Seattle Children's Research Institute is seeking applications for a post-doctoral fellow. The Jaspan lab focuses on host-microbial interactions at mucosal surfaces and their impact on immunity and disease susceptibility, primarily in the infant gut and adolescent/maternal genital tracts. The fellow will focus on multi-omics data analysis, such as the immune-microbial alterations induced by live-biotherapeutic supplementation in early life, and microbial-metaproteomic consequences of contraceptive devices on the cervicovaginal environment.
Ultimately, we hope to improve infectious morbidity in infants and young women globally.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in microbiology, immunology, or bioinformatics, or a similar discipline. They will have the ability to perform precise wetlab work and complex bioinformatics analyses. They will work closely with technicians and graduate/undergraduate students to independently advance projects, write papers, and apply for F32 or equivalent grants.
