REQ-
The Center for the Science of Social Connection in the University of Washington Psychology Department has an outstanding opportunity for a part time Research Coordinator to join their team.
About this OpportunityReporting to Jonathan Kanter, PhD (Research Associate Professor and Center Director), the Research Study Coordinator will join a small team that is designing and implementing a nationally representative study to understand the nature of antisemitism in the United States. Competing definitions of antisemitism are available to the public and relevant organizations, including the IHRA definition that is favored by many mainstream Jewish organizations, pro-Israel groups, and the federal government.
However, many scholars and scientists are critical of this definition for being too inclusive of legitimate anti-Israel criticism, and pro-Palestine advocates argue that the definition is being used to label free speech in opposition to Israel’s actions as antisemitic and punish it as such. The current study will scientifically investigate this issue, specifically deepening our understanding of the relationship between antisemitism and criticism of Israel.
The Research Study Coordinator will work closely with the research team to coordinate and implement all aspects of this study, including survey development, literature review, research approval and registration processes, participant recruitment, data management, and manuscript development.
