What you’ll doStep into the historic Smith Tower Observatory & Bar. As a Bartender in our iconic establishment, you’ll craft curated libations, engage guests with personalized service, and work as a server when required. You’ll channel the spirit of the prohibition era and ensure every visit is a journey into vintage charm and unforgettable fun.
- Work as a hybrid bartender and server, taking orders accurately and accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions.
- Prepare all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage orders for the bar area and service team in accordance with recipe standards.
- Maintain attractive, consistent presentation of cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Keep the bar area clean and organized; wash glassware and barware as needed.
- Deliver a warm, welcoming experience with attentive, exceptional service.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of menu items, including curated cocktails, and confidently make recommendations.
- Work as a banquet/catering bartender for private events, promotional/consumer events, and meetings as instructed by the F&B Manager and Banquet Captain.
- Adhere to all food safety and health practices and Washington State Liquor Laws, including valid s.
- Address guest concerns promptly and exceed expectations wherever possible.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- High-volume restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for hospitality and guest service.
- Strong guest-service orientation with a solutions mindset.
- Able to operate a computerized point of sale system.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ pounds.
- Ability to de-escalate, stay organized, and handle busy operations.
- Dependable attendance and flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; overtime as needed.
