Summary

The Pastry Cook 3 should be comfortable in a fast‑paced kitchen and passionate to learn, grow, and inspire others in the world of baking and pastry. This advanced Pastry Cook position requires good communication and preferably 2–3 years of pastry experience to cover intermediate and advanced baking and culinary skills. A culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable producing at a high‑volume level in a safe and efficient manner, and capable of producing a consistent product that meets and exceeds guests’ needs in a timely manner.

The Pastry Cook 3 should be flexible to work in an ever‑changing operation across the Hyatt Regency Seattle. We welcome your passion for pastry, and for growing your career in pastry operations.

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate range for this position is $31.30/hour to $31.93/hour. The starting rate for this position is $31.30/hour. This position also has an established rate for colleagues who have remained in the position for four years or more with Hyatt, which is currently offered at $31.93/hour.

Qualifications
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
  • 2–3 years of previous pastry experience preferred
  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred
  • Capable of following recipes and able to communicate clearly with coworkers and management
  • Strong understanding of temperature holding, proper storage, and labeling standards
  • Strong background in Banquets and producing at a high‑volume level, both plated and buffet presentation
  • Ability to multi‑task, work independently, and lead pastry shifts
  • Knowledge of vegan desserts, healthier dessert options, and alternative sweeteners preferred
  • Experience in cakes, entremets, mousses, custard, and creams
  • Knowledge of chocolate and confections preferred
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Willingness and desire to learn and grow
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
