Baker - Indian Cuisine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Baker to join our team in Washington specializing in Indian cuisine.

As a Baker you will be responsible for preparing a variety of Indian breads, pastries, and desserts using traditional methods and recipes.

This is a contract position with a salary of $1200 per month with the potential for full-time employment.

No previous experience is required but must have a passion for baking and willingness to learn.

Accommodation and visa sponsorship will be provided.

• Prepare and bake various types of Indian breads including naan, roti, and paratha.
• Create traditional Indian desserts such as gulab jamun, ras malai, and jalebi.
• Mix ingredients according to recipes and make adjustments as needed.
• Monitor baking process to ensure quality and consistency.
• Maintain clean work area and follow food safety standards.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to plan menu items.
• Train and supervise assistant bakers or apprentices.

• Knowledge of traditional Indian baking techniques and recipes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good time management skills to ensure timely completion of orders.
• Creativity to develop new menu items or adapt existing ones.
• Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with other kitchen staff.
• Physically fit as the job requires standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Previous experience as a baker or pastry chef in an Indian restaurant or bakery.
• Culinary degree or certificate from an accredited institution.
• Multilingual abilities;
  English plus Hindi or other regional languages.
