Sales Associate

We are always looking for excited, outdoor oriented folks to join our team. You will be responsible for outfitting Seattle's finest outdoor recreationalists, maintaining a deep knowledge of the gear we carry, and spreading the stoke! While retail experience is preferred, it is not necessary. Be sure to include applicable outdoor experience in your cover letter.

This position plays a key role in helping maintain the daily operations on the sales floor. You'll be responsible for greeting and ringing up customers, restocking apparel and gear, assisting customers with product questions, and maintaining COVID-19 cleaning expectations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the rental fleet and associated paperwork, managing warranty cases, and other miscellaneous customer inquiries. To succeed in this position a candidate should be incredibly organized and detail oriented.

• Greets, de-greets, and acknowledges all customers.
• Makes oneself present (visibly and audibly available) with customers at all times.
• Effectively assists multiple customers simultaneously if necessary.
• Communicates with Manager on Duty (MOD) to determine daily priorities. Completes and initials tasks for the appropriate day in daily log if one is used.
• Regularly shares knowledge and perspectives on products with customers and other staff members.
• Provides positive and productive suggestions or feedback to other staff.
• Assists customers in the rental process.
• Enforces our fitting room policies with customers.
• Immediately informs the manager and other staff members of suspicious theft.
• Completes closing activities and checks in with the MOD before leaving the floor at the end of the shift to ensure all tasks are completed to manager’s satisfaction.
• Supports processing store pick-up items for customers.
• Additional duties that may be assigned.

• Previous retail experience is preferred, but not required.
• One weekend day is required for scheduling needs.
• This is a full-time position located at our shop in Ballard.
