Salary Range: $22.00 – $26.99 per hour
Shift: Any (Hours May Vary)
Position Summary:The Produce Clerk at Uwajimaya prioritizes excellent customer service while fulfilling customer produce needs. This role involves maintaining a fresh, high‑quality selection at all times, along with responsibilities such as maintaining inventory, stocking, and ensuring a clean and organized department.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Greet customers warmly, provide assistance, answer questions, and offer recommendations.
- Stock produce and rotate fresh fruits and vegetables throughout shifts to maintain freshness.
- Ensure a great selection of fresh, quality produce is available, trimmed, and displayed properly.
- Maintain inventory levels, receive deliveries, and address discrepancies promptly.
- Keep the produce department clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Ensure produce on store shelves is consistently fresh and in excellent condition.
- Continuously learn about products to enhance customer service and satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior retail experience and knowledge of Asian products, preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic math proficiency, familiarity with ten‑key/calculator, and comfortable using computers.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate varying shifts.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and proactively work independently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
