Sales Specialists are active floor associates who communicate with customers, answer questions, and help them achieve their home improvement goals. You will spend most of your time discussing project needs and providing product expertise.
Departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, and Windows & Walls.
Key Responsibilities- Provide SMART customer service by seeking out customers to understand their needs, answer questions, and communicate the advantages of Lowe's products and services.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors within your department, providing project estimates, scheduling installer visits, processing customer orders, and ensuring project completion.
- For the Pro Department: focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with vendors and other stores to find merchandise and order replacement stock.
- Perform price reviews according to pricing policies and maintain accurate pricing documentation.
- Support all checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, and requests for assistance.
- Train associates on the floor and coach around development needs.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience (or 3 years of external customer-facing sales or 18 months of Lowe’s retail experience if education requirement is not met).
- 1 year of experience in sales or customer service in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics.
- Able to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
- Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Minimum lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in your state (Lowe’s will support and fund this requirement).
- 1 year experience completing customer sales orders.
- 1 year experience promoting product-related services and plans such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plan.
- 2 years experience designing customized products using 20/20 or a computer-aided design system.
- Professional certification related to the department being considered.
- Bilingual skills.
This role does not require regular travel; occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
Working ConditionsEmployees may work inside and outside under varying climates. Exposure to noise, moving objects, and equipment is possible. Lifting guidelines: single lifts up to 75 lbs. Team lifts start at 75 lbs or when needed. Powered equipment is used with proper training.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.65 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
