OverviewMaintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store. Includes store cleanliness, recovery standards, and delivering Brand Promises. Deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop and find what they’re looking for.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
- Dust and mop floors following approved procedures.
- Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and place products back in correct locations.
- Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. May require mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
- Deep clean key areas of the store including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways, and other high traffic areas to maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notify supervisor of supply needs in advance.
- Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task.
- Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
- Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers, even in difficult situations, in keeping with the organization’s vision and values.
- Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
- Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience; execute cash handling to standards.
- Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
- Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute Company policies and standards.
- Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching and stretching.
- Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
- As required, assistance for essential functions of the job may be provided by the supervisor through an interactive process.
- Work may include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
- Public retail store setting; all public areas climate controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work may be assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks.
- Standard commercial cleaners and chemicals used.
Michaels requires all team members in this role to be at least sixteen (16) years or older.
Total Base Pay Range For This Position$22.75 - $26.00
