Retail Sales Associate
The Retail Sales Associate interacts and assists customers, donors and others with merchandise selection, suggestion selling and cashiering in a courteous and professional manner. Pay rate: $21.63/hour.
Essential functions and responsibilities include: proactively acknowledging, greeting and helping customers in any area of the store; assisting customers/donors in a timely and courteous manner by answering questions or directing them to a supervisor; handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions, closing out cash drawer and balancing all point of sale (POS) transactions; communicating through standard telephone and wireless audio systems;
merchandising, restocking and providing general floor maintenance where needed; maintaining a clean work environment; supporting team members, assisting supervisors and leads when necessary; building and maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction; contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed; demonstrating safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; and performing other duties as assigned.
Position requirements include: high school graduate or equivalency preferred, but not required; no experience required; ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job; no certificates, licenses, or registrations required; physical abilities include lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds, fine motor control, standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing, climbing ladders, and able to travel across a variety of surfaces;
essential mental/sensory abilities include organizing, sorting, categorizing, counting, adding, subtracting, interpreting data, problem solving, communicating with the public, verbal and written communication skills; work environment includes retail store environment, temperature varies, loud noises, occasional crowds, exposure to dust.
