Butcher / Meat Cutter

Pay: $21.00/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking an experienced Butcher / Meat Cutter to join a retail meat department. This position is ideal for someone with previous butcher or meat‑cutting experience who takes pride in producing quality cuts, maintaining food safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. Candidates should be comfortable working with beef, pork, poultry, and other meats while ensuring products are prepared and displayed to the highest standards.

• Cut, trim, bone, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and other meats into retail‑ready products
• Produce quality steaks, chops, roasts, and specialty cuts according to customer requests
• Grind, portion, weigh, wrap, and label meat products accurately
• Maintain attractive, well‑stocked meat displays to maximize product presentation and sales
• Assist customers with product selection, special orders, and cooking or preparation recommendations
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to maintain adequate stock
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, knives, and storage areas throughout the day
• Work efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment

• Previous experience as a Butcher
  , Meat Cutter
  , or in a retail meat department required
• Experience making specific cuts of beef, pork, poultry, or other meats
• Knowledge of proper knife handling and meat processing techniques
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
