A successful Inventory Control employee at Dunn Lumber ensures that our stores maintain accurate inventory stock levels, allowing employees to provide our customers with a steady rate of exceptional service. The Inventory Control team also performs adjustments, manages returns, validates received merchandise and implements inventory reporting strategies. In collaboration with the inventory team, this position plays a critical role in making sure our stores are staged, stocked, and ready to serve.

This location is currently hiring for the following schedule(s) Tuesday - Thursday (8:00am - 4:00pm) RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Handle inventory corrections including adjustments to stock levels, sell-throughs, closeouts, bin/set maintenance, price maintenance, etc.
- Complete inventory counts according to established timelines, including negative and special-order items
- Monitor inventory flow with incoming and outgoing stock including supplier returns suggested orders, and yard transfers
- Assist with in-store advertisements and promotional material; updating signage, stacking outs, and end caps as required
- Replenish stock inside of the store as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Customer service or inventory/stocking experience is preferred.
Education, Certificates, or LicensesThis position has no prerequisite education, certificates, or licenses. Employee must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Technical/Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competency with computers including the ability to enter login credential information, punch in and out for work, and operate a barcode scanner. This position also requires ability to perform basic math, such as counting, fractions, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
Supervisor ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to use ladders and climb stairs.
This job constantly operates in an indoor retail store environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
