Overview
The Director of Sales for building materials products will drive new revenue growth, establish market share strategy, and implement go-to-market and sales strategies for building materials, equipment and technologies. They lead a high-performing team and will establish a new sales and marketing strategy, set sales targets, manage key relationships with contractors and distributors, and align sales initiatives with company goals and objectives.
Responsibilities- Strategic Planning
:
Develop and implement annual sales plans, forecasting, and pricing strategies to achieve revenue goals and increase market share. - Sales Leadership & Team Management
:
Hire, train, and mentor sales staff (OSR/ISR) and regional managers, fostering a culture of accountability. - Customer Relationship Management
:
Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, including distributors, contractors, architects, and developers. - Market Analysis & Expansion
:
Identify new market opportunities, monitor competitor activities, and adapt strategies to changing market conditions. - Cross-Functional Collaboration
:
Work with marketing, operations, product management, and finance to align sales with production capabilities and inventories. - Performance Reporting
:
Analyze sales data to report on progress, budget, and profitability to the executive team.
- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is often preferred. - Experience
: 10+ years of sales experience within the construction, building materials, or manufacturing industries. - Industry Knowledge
:
Strong understanding of construction processes, product applications, and dealer networks. - Skills
:
Proven ability to manage long, technical sales cycles, Salesforce CRM proficiency, and exceptional leadership and communication skills. - Travel
: 25-35% within the Pacific Northwest.
