Responsibilities- Drive revenue and market share in a defined geographic region.
- Own adoption and growth of emerging cloud technologies to help government customers serve constituents more effectively.
- Develop and manage a growing customer base, capture new logo organizations, and launch citizen‑facing services.
- Determine effective go‑to‑market strategies and collaborate with Solution Consultants, Channel Partners, Product Management, and Executive leadership.
- Articulate and implement strategic territory and account plans aligned to Genesys’ strategic direction.
- Understand technical considerations, certifications, and procurement processes specific to the public sector.
- Identify prospects, partners, and channels; communicate a relevant value proposition.
- Work with customers to ensure they understand CX and AI use cases, and partner with Customer Success to ensure mission success.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and others to manage complex contract negotiations.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline of $6M+ and forecast using the MEDPICC sales methodology.
- Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior management, aligning quarterly and yearly strategies with revenue growth expectations.
- Travel up to 50% within the territory and leverage consultants and lobbyists.
- Understand and leverage federal security frameworks such as FedRAMP, IRS Pub
1075, CMS MARS‑E, SSA‑TSSR, and NIST 800‑53.
- 8+ years of enterprise sales/business development experience focused on state and local government customers.
- Experience selling to state executive agencies in healthcare, human services, labor, transportation, and revenue.
- Strong relationships with state agency executives.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Technical background in contact center technologies, DBaaS, SaaS, IaaS, CPaaS, and AI.
- Consistently exceeding sales quota.
- Live in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho with ability to travel to state capitals.
- Strategic mindset and drive for new logo acquisition and expanding the customer base.
