Who We’re Looking ForWe’re searching for a self-starter who thrives on identifying opportunities, understanding client HVAC needs, and delivering tailored preventative maintenance solutions. You’re outgoing, technically savvy, and skilled at navigating sales cycles while fostering strong relationships with facility managers, owners, and internal teams. If you have a solid grasp of HVAC systems, can assess equipment on-site, develop proposals, and hit sales targets with a proactive mindset, you’re the kind of force multiplier we need to expand our service footprint.
This field-based role is primarily based in Seattle, WA, with regular travel to client sites across the region as needed.
As an HVAC Preventative Maintenance Sales Representative, you’ll lead sales efforts for our preventative maintenance programs, focusing on commercial and industrial clients to secure long-term service agreements that enhance system reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
Salary Range$70,000 - $130,000 annually + performance bonuses
Here’s a deeper dive into what you’ll take on:- Sales & Prospecting
- Identify and prospect new clients in need of HVAC preventative maintenance services through targeted outreach, networking, and industry research.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their operational needs and providing tailored maintenance solutions.
- Conduct on-site assessments and evaluations of clients' HVAC systems to identify maintenance needs, energy savings opportunities, and system improvements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop comprehensive maintenance proposals, service agreements, and pricing strategies.
- Present proposals and negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring alignment with their budgetary and operational requirements.
- Client & Project Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for clients, offering ongoing support, guidance, and recommendations to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Coordinate with internal teams (service technicians, project managers, and operations) to ensure seamless execution of maintenance agreements, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations (e.g., energy codes, ASHRAE standards), and best practices to effectively advise clients and maintain a competitive edge.
- Performance & Reporting
- Track and report on sales performance metrics, including pipeline development, conversion rates, and revenue targets.
- Maintain proactive and positive relationships with customers, within the JH Kelly team, management, crafts, and all project teams.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support sales and service success.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in sales within the HVAC or related industry. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and preventative maintenance practices. Preferred:
Proven track record of assessing systems, communicating maintenance requirements, and closing service contracts. - Education: High school diploma or equivalent certification.
