Our client is a well-established employee and group benefits firm offering comprehensive employer-paid solutions, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) with employer match. They are a dynamic, energetic organization that values passion for benefits and a client-first mindset. They are seeking an experienced Benefits Account Manager to join their growing team in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area. This role is central to maintaining and nurturing client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for a dedicated book of business ranging from 25 to 150 lives.
If you thrive in a client-facing environment and bring genuine enthusiasm for employee benefits, this opportunity is for you.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary client-facing Account Manager for a book of business consisting of 25-150 lives.
- Manage accounts primarily under fully funded and level funded arrangements, with some self-funded exposure.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with employer clients, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
- Coordinate with internal teams for analytics and reporting support, allowing focus to remain on client service and relationship management.
- Utilize company software platforms to manage client accounts, communications, and benefit plan information.
- Stay current on industry trends, carrier offerings, and compliance requirements to provide informed guidance to clients.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues across Seattle and Tacoma office locations as needed.
- Minimum of 3 years of true Account Manager experience in employee/group benefits (coordinator or assistant roles do not qualify toward this requirement).
- Demonstrated experience managing fully funded and level funded accounts; self-funded exposure is a plus.
- Stable employment history preferred - ideally no more than 2 employers within the past 10 years.
- Strong passion for employee benefits and a high-energy, client-focused approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to manage client relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn platforms such as D365, Canva, SharePoint, EZ, Benefit Point, and Employee Navigator (training provided).
- Ability to work in a hybrid capacity - 2 to 3 days in office (Seattle or Tacoma location) and 2 to 3 days remote. Fully remote arrangements are not available for this role.
- Active Washington State Life & Disability Insurance License preferred or ability to obtain.
