Position Summary
We are seeking a senior-level, relationship-driven business development professional to join our growing team as Director, HCP Strategic Partnerships. This role is ideal for someone with deep connections across Pharma Agencies of Record and brand teams at pharmaceutical companies, a passion for consultative selling, and a proven track record of closing and growing business in the HCP engagement space.
You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, deepening existing relationships, and creating long-term strategic partnerships with marketing and medical stakeholders across the life sciences industry. This includes leading high-touch BD efforts such as networking events, executive dinners, and 1:1 outreach to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow a portfolio of agency and pharma-direct relationships across commercial and medical functions
- Drive new business development with a focus on HCP media, content, and engagement solutions
- Lead high-touch BD activities including:
- Hosting client dinners, networking events, and golf outings
- Planning and attending conferences and industry gatherings
- Scheduling in-person and virtual strategic meetings with senior brand leads
- Develop account plans and relationship-mapping strategies in Salesforce/CRM
- Leverage tools like Linked In Sales Navigator and targeted outreach to build pipeline
- Partner with internal teams (Solutions, Tech, Production) to shape compelling proposals
- Forecast and track revenue performance; contribute to quarterly and annual sales goals
- Provide market feedback and client insights to inform product innovation and positioning
Qualifications
- 5+ years of business development or strategic partnerships experience in:
- HCP media agency, medical communications, or
- Pharmaceutical marketing, brand engagement, or digital content roles
- Strong existing relationships with AORs, media planners, brand directors, or marketers in life sciences
- Proven sales track record of consistently exceeding revenue goals
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable leading client-facing presentations, dinners, and networking events
- Skilled in Linked In-based outreach, CRM tracking, and multi-channel prospecting
- Ability to travel for client meetings, conferences, and hosted engagements (20–30%)
Preferred Experience
- Understanding of MLR/medical-legal review, branded vs. unbranded program dynamics
- Knowledge of key metrics in CPE, HCP targeting, and omnichannel strategy
- Background working with video-based or digital HCP campaigns
