Overview
Johnson & Johnson focuses on health, innovation, and delivering breakthrough solutions across Innovative Medicine and Med Tech. This role is for a Sales Consultant in the Seattle Eastside territory within DePuy Synthes Orthopaedics, focusing on surgeon and account relationships and driving product sales and value for customers.
Responsibilities- Prospecting and Planning:
Identify and qualify prospective surgeons and accounts. Develop and implement account- or surgeon-specific plans and selling strategies to grow sales and convert new business. - Achieve Business Plan Objectives:
Meet sales goals and quotas through the use of approved resources. - Product Sales:
Drive sales for all assigned products within the territory; use product and customer knowledge to present, demonstrate, and ensure proper utilization of products. - Customer Relationships:
Gain access to key surgeons and buyer points within accounts; build effective relations with surgeons, OR personnel, and other hospital staff. - Case Coverage:
Maintain contact with prospects or newly converted customers; provide routine support to surgeons and OR personnel during surgical cases. - Customer Care:
Improve patient care; serve as a problem solver with prompt follow-up; educate surgeons, OR staff, and central supply personnel through in-services and workshops. - Inventory Management:
Maintain sales equipment and promotional materials in good condition and use them to support territory efforts per company policies. - Competitive Awareness:
Monitor and respond to competitive threats as appropriate. - Product Promotion and Planning:
Promote new or special products and execute strategic selling objectives; plan to balance product sales mix in the territory.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or
- Associate degree or Medical Certification (e.g., CST, PT) with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience, or
- Recent transition from Active Military Duty with a minimum of 3 years of related experience
Other:
- Ability to work in a lab/operating room environment.
- Valid United States driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel, including weekends or overnight travel.
- Residence in or relocation to the posted territory.
- Strong interpersonal communication, influencing, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in data analysis and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously; strong collaboration skills within a complex reporting structure.
- High accuracy and attention to detail; ability to understand and communicate in complex environments.
- Functional knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, basic knowledge of surgery; strong technical product knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, protocols, and solutions preferred.
