The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full‑time faculty member for their Sarcoma Program. The position will be dual‑appointed with a primary faculty appointment in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and a secondary appointment in the UW Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology.

Anticipated start date:
August 2026 (flexible).

Responsibilities

The Director of Clinical Research for Sarcoma will lead Fred Hutch’s Sarcoma clinical research operations, expanding initiatives related to sarcoma and galvanizing multidisciplinary translational research. Core duties include:

  • Strategic planning, implementation, and management of clinical research activities focused on sarcoma.
  • Developing new research collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and national trials.
  • Building partnerships among researchers and staff, integrating trials across stakeholders.
  • Leading and facilitating translational research collaborations within the Cancer Consortium.
  • Educating and training researchers in sarcoma and creating a vision for future sarcoma care in the region.
  • Overseeing the clinical care of sarcoma patients while protecting time for research and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
  • MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
  • Board certification in medical oncology (or foreign equivalent).
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, clinical oversight of learners, and mentorship.
  • A record in clinical, translational, or laboratory‑based research with a primary focus on sarcomas and closely related conditions.
Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $315,000–$335,000 for assistant professors, $350,000–$375,000 for associate professors, and $385,000–$400,000 for full professors. The position may include relocation assistance, a sign‑on bonus, and an Administrative Supplement (ADS).
