Chemistry Technician - Contractor
Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Technician to support the efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power System (RPS) technologies. In this role you will:
- Perform daily experiments under direction of Project Lead Chemist.
- Assist with documenting experimental procedures, hazards assessments, and results.
- Assist with literature searches and technical documentation.
- Prepare bulk solutions and in-house chemicals.
- Prepare calibration standard solutions and samples for instrumental analyses.
- Stock and monitor laboratory supplies.
- Assist and support the Hardware lab and the Chemistry lab.
- Support EH&S to ensure a safe working environment.
- Help manage and facilitate chemical waste collection.
- Assist with instrument and equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Support Zeno Power Systems Safety Culture.
Key
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree or higher in Chemistry or equivalent from accredited university
- 2+ years of laboratory experience
- Hands-on experience in disciplines related to analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and materials science
- Experience working with radioactive materials is a plus
- Ability to communicate across disciplines.
- Ability to present data to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in an uncertain environment.
- Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to coordinate and lead efforts with minimal direction.
- Eagerness to learn.
- Must have excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
Job Functions:
- Position requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) Monday-Friday.
- Travel:
Travel may be required, 8 hr/day
Compensation and Benefits:
The anticipated pay band for this position is $30-$45/hr the final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
