Biologist; Nepa Coordinator

Duties

Provides authoritative oversight, direction, and approval of NEPA processes and documents.

Leads environmental coordination and compliance activities for assigned projects by ensuring all required environmental documents are identified, developed, reviewed, and completed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Serves as the lead environmental biologist responsible for integrating environmental compliance oversight into planning, design, construction, and operations while ensuring environmental tasks support overall scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

Determines applicable regulatory pathways and manages development and coordination of biological assessments, categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, mitigation plans, monitoring plans, etc.

Compiles, maintains, and disseminates current NEPA statutes, Executive Orders, regulations, policies, and species listings.

Develops practical guidance, templates, checklists, and process tools to support District staff in implementing updated NEPA requirements.
