Salary range is $25.00/hour to $69.23/hour with a midpoint of $47.12/hour. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

Under general supervision of the Security Operation Center Manager, the Superintendents will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the Sound Transit's Security Operation Center (SOC). Work with contracted employees assigned to the SOC to ensure receiving and processing of incoming calls, along with monitoring, dispatching, and documenting security incidents. Apply knowledge in problem solving, possess critical thinking skills and be detail oriented.
Understand the concept of National Incident Management System as it relates to the role of the Security Operation Center. Responsible for effective communication, incident information, and communication standards and formats. Leads and coordinates incident response efforts by maintaining an in-depth knowledge of security procedures. Responsible for the execution of policy and procedures into actionable tactical activities within the Security Operation Center, including working closely with Sound Transit security and field resources in response to incidents and events that could impact service or operation.
FUNCTIONS

- Provides oversight, guidance and decision‑making within the SOC including security incident response, incident detection and threat analysis.
- Handle day‑to‑day operational issues in the SOC for an assigned shift.
- Oversee the daily operations of the SOC, ensuring the SOC team is aware of the daily activities/schedule, discussing and addressing scheduling concerns/gaps with the vendor, approving reports, and briefing leadership on incidents - potential or realized.
- Work collaboratively within the SOC and with security operations contractors, Sound Transit Public Safety, internal and external groups to prepare for, respond to, and recover from all incidents and crisis events that may impact Sound Transit.
- Use multiple internal and external resources to gather and manage information and intelligence about events that are occurring.
- Prioritizes, communicates, and disseminates information as needed to key stakeholders.
- Verifies contracted SOC operators fulfill Sound Transit's contract expectations and are following written policy and procedures.
- Champions and models Sound Transit's core values and demonstrates values‑based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency.
