This is a Night Shift Role. $1,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet the required qualifications and conditions for payment. This is a combined posting for Security Officer and Senior Security Officer. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. The Security Officer provides a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, staff and property of Swedish Medical Center. Due to the continuous public contact of the position the highest level of customer service skills is essential. Security Officers conduct random patrols of the property, respond to and investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and appropriately document actions and observations made during the shift.

Security Officers respond to alarms and codes by providing traffic control and assisting with safe patient handling. They also conduct routine safety walks of the facilities and submit remedial requests for any concerns identified.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 90 days of hire:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire:
  Successful completion of TASER© training and certification (with annual re‑certification)
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire:
  Successful completion of AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training and Certification
• Customer service experience and/or training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree
• 1 year of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience
• Healthcare security experience

Salary Range: $22.05 – $33.74 per hour

The Senior Security Officer provides a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, staff and property of Swedish Medical Center. Due to the continuous public contact of the position, the highest level of customer service skills is essential. Security Officers conduct random patrols of the property, respond to and investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and appropriately document actions and observations made during the shift.

Security Officers respond to alarms and codes by providing traffic control and assisting with safe patient handling. They also conduct routine safety walks of the facilities and submit remedial requests for any concerns identified.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 90 days of hire:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Within 90 days of hire:
  Successful completion of TASER/AXON training and certification annually
• Within 90 days of hire:
  Successful completion of AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training and Certification
• 3 years of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience, including at least two years in healthcare security
• Customer service experience and Hospital Incident Command System training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree, or AA or equivalent preferred
• Upon request: FEMA – HC 100, HC 200, and 700.A certification

Salary Range: $24.82 – $37.98 per hour
