Security Officer
We are hiring for all levels of security officer:
All shifts
The Security Officer is the primary responder for all safety concerns, security incidents, and service requests at facilities owned or occupied by Seattle Children’s. The role is to deter, detect, prevent, respond and document incidents that risk the safety and well‑being of patients, families, visitors, workforce members and property using appropriate protocols, emergency response procedures and non‑violent crisis intervention methods.
Qualifications- Required Education and Experience – Level I: high school or equivalent. Level II: associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field, or a combination of 3 years related experience in Security Services.
- Required Credentials – Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire; CPI Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (annual requirement); NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hire;
Seattle Children’s Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hire;
Safety Cares Certification within 90 days of hire if required;
Car Seat Safety Training within 12 months of hire if required;
Score of 80 % or above on Seattle Children’s Security Competency Exam (Service Call, Emergency Department, Entrance, Surge, and Research) within 12 months; - Preferred – Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to Risk Management;
Completion of Wheelchair Vehicle Training;
International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification.
Hourly rate: $21.64 – $39.76 per hour. Compensation range was calculated based on full‑time employment (2080 hours per calendar year). Offers are determined by equity, skills, experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
