Job Description
UW Medical Center-Montlake is hiring a Hospital Security Officer on a 100% FTE basis with a variable shift schedule.
Position Highlights- Create safety and security for patients, visitors, and staff at the No. 1 Hospital in Seattle and Washington State.

- Maintain security and safety through inspection of buildings and grounds, providing superior customer service to patients, staff, faculty, and visitors.
- Tactfully confront individuals, gain their trust, and de‑escalate anger to achieve satisfactory solutions.
- Investigate incidents and crimes, completing clear, concise, and accurate incident reports and other documentation.
- Patrol and inspect the interior and exterior of the facility on foot or in a vehicle, responding promptly and safely to calls for assistance and “code” calls.
- Evict, hold, or detain persons when directed by appropriate law enforcement, clinical, or administrative authority.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- No prior felony convictions.
- Two years of full‑time college in police science or an allied field, or two years of police or campus security experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when legal requirements (license, certification, registration) apply.
Compensation and BenefitsPay Range Minimum: $27.17 hourly
Pay Range Maximum: $38.86 hourly
