Security Officer

Day Shift Role. $1,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires who meet the required qualifications and payment conditions. This posting includes Security Officer and Senior Security Officer positions at Swedish Medical Center. Consideration will be based on qualifications. Responsibilities:

• Conduct random patrols of Swedish Medical Center property.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, providing traffic control and assistance with safe patient handling.
• Report safety hazards and document actions and observations during shifts.
• Assist with secure access control, monitor security cameras, and submit remedial requests.
• Provide customer service to patients and visitors, including directions and assistance.
• Maintain readiness to use physical force when necessary to protect the patient care environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 90 days of hire:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire:
  Successful completion of TASER© training and certification (with annual re-certification)
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire:
  Successful completion of AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training and Certification
• Customer service experience and/or training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree
• 1 year of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience
• Healthcare security experience

Salary Range: $21.08 – $35.89 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• All duties of the Security Officer.
• Provide guidance and supervision to security staff.
• Coordinate emergency response and incident command as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 90 days of hire:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Within 90 days of hire:
  Successful completion of TASER/AXON Training and Certification annually
• Within 90 days of hire:
  Successful completion of AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training and Certification
• 3 years of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience including at least 2 years in healthcare security
• Customer service experience and Hospital Incident Command System training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree or AA or equivalent
• Upon request:
  Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) 100.HCB; 200.HCA; and 700.A certification

Salary Range: $22.58 – $38.39 per hour.
