The Safety and Security Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's safety and security policies and programs. This role involves ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, conducting risk assessments, training staff, and responding to emergencies. This position reports to the Director, Safety & Security.
Key Responsibilities- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Research and comprehend corporate level safety and security policies, procedures, and programs
- Develop and implement local safety and security policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Risk Management
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of facilities.
- Identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Emergency Response:
- Maintain emergency response plans.
- Lead the response to security incidents and emergencies.
- Conduct drills and training sessions for staff on emergency procedures.

Education:- Maintain a cohesive and effective new hire safety and security program
- Maintain a proactive enduring training program for the safety and security management program
- Provide safety and security training for employees.
- Educate staff on best practices and compliance requirements.
- Hold monthly safety committee meetings
- Surveillance and Monitoring:
- Monitor security systems and respond to alarms and incidents.
- Incident Investigation:
- Investigate security breaches, accidents, and other incidents.
- Prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Liaise with law enforcement, emergency responders, and other external agencies.
- Communicate safety and security updates and policies to employees.
- Communicate safety and security updates and program to executive leadership.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of safety and security incidents, training, and inspections.
- Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field, preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety and security role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or similar.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of safety and security regulations and best practices.
- Excellent risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of security and surveillance technology.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working Conditions:
- May be required to work outside regular business hours, including nights and weekends.
