5+ years prior field experience with commercial kitchen and refrigeration service required.
Demonstrated ability to independently perform preventive maintenance (PM), advanced reactive diagnostics, and complex equipment repairs. Service hot-side (fryers, ovens, grills, steamers) + cold-side (walk-ins, ice machines, reach-ins) equipment. Maintain EPA-compliant refrigerant handling practices (EPA 608 Certification required). Travel within 15–20 miles to corporate offices (Seattle-only routes); must have valid driver's license with clean MVR. Proficient with basic hand tools and safe field practices.
Strong troubleshooting capability and documentation discipline required.

Job Summary:Repairs, maintains, performs preventive maintenance, and executes advanced reactive service diagnostics and repairs on commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. Technicians will service a range of equipment including but not limited to fryers, combi ovens, convection ovens, grills, steamers, walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in refrigeration units, and ice machines. Equipment may include major commercial manufacturers such as Hobart, Vulcan, Garland, Frymaster, Turbo Chef, True, Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Traulsen, and similar brands.
Responds to dispatch calls using company-owned vehicle. Calls on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; listens to and resolves service complaints. Visually inspects equipment to determine causes of malfunctions; dismantles equipment to gain access to problem area. Inspects parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems; removes and replaces worn or defective parts; repairs broken parts; realigns and adjusts components;
tests equipment operation following repair. Reviews inventory and orders parts; maintains equipment inventory. Prepares equipment for installation at accounts; assists in installations and removals. Sets up and operates mechanical equipment and small hand tools for equipment repair. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Strong experience in equipment repair and maintenance, including troubleshooting commercial kitchen and refrigeration systems
- Expertise in electrical systems and mechanical systems relevant to kitchen and refrigeration equipment
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment blueprints
- Knowledge of safety standards, health regulations, and industry best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with colleagues and clients
- Relevant certifications such as EPA 608 certification and a valid driver’s license
- Preferred qualifications include a technical degree in HVAC/R, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with experience in a facilities management environment
