HVAC TB Chiller Journeyman Mechanic I (un)

Johnson Controls Inc. is looking for forward‑thinking talent to join our organization to support the fast‑growing HVAC business in North America. JCI is committed to the health and safety of all employees, customers, partners, and the communities we serve. You will work on HVAC chillers, commercial products, and large facilities.

Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and outcomes at commissioning and aftermarket service. Offer recommendations and upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations.

Support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket services for remote customers on residential, ducted, air‑cooled, and water‑cooled chillers, AHUs, or rooftop ducted units.

• Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• Dedicated member of a North America Branch team, willing to learn and be responsible for startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Minimum 3 years of practical experience on residential or ducted HVAC products, air or water‑cooled chillers, AHUs, or rooftop ducted units with strong mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers system components.
• Travel may be required 10% to 20% for startup, commissioning, and service activities.
• Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
• Seek opportunity to enroll in training programs and JCI’s Service Technical Academy for HVAC product and sales quoting knowledge.
• Collaborate with local market mechanics.
• Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills.
• Provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
• Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply on the job.
• Prioritize safety in all forms.
• Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.

Pay Rate: $68.47 hourly, determined by CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
