Controls Systems Technician

Overview

Johnson Controls is hiring a Commissioning Technician to perform system commissioning, troubleshoot HVAC and controls issues, and provide customer service.

• Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Load system‑level controller software and perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls and provide solutions and outcomes to customers.
• Calibrate systems with electronic test equipment.
• Complete all required commissioning documentation and as‑built records.
• Communicate with contractors or customers regarding job progress and issues.
• Maintain administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
• Follow safety standards and attend required safety training.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to support facility efficiency and upselling opportunities.

• Demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail, effective communication, and listening skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Depending on location, mounting and terminating low voltage devices may have special licensing requirements.

• Two years’ experience installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems.

Hourly rate: $24.52–$33.65, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market data.
