Job Description:

ELECTRICIAN MAINTENANCE

GDIT is seeking a Marine Electrician to help support the SACSS program in Seattle, Washington

This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided.

Must be a US Citizen

Job Description:

* Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and connectors.

* Uses hand tools and testing equipment.

* Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.

* Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment.

* Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.

* Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.

* Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.

* Works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

* Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

* Participates in special projects as required.

* Must be able to obtain all necessary badges (DBIDS and shipyard).

* Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.

* Performs other duties as assigned

* Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 75 lbs.

* Travel (within and outside of the continental United States) Maybe required for 20% of the time

Required

Certifications:

Cableway Certified, Connertor Certified, Modular, COAX, Multi-Pin, Connector Fabricator and Inspector, Connector Trained and Qualified with 40 hours OJT. Fiber Optic Cable Handling, Pulling, Forming/Shaping, BOF, Single/Multi, Optical Testing, Fusion Splicing

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.52 - $36.80. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
