The University of Washington Medical Center at Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Carpenter.

WORK SCHEDULES

* 100% FTE (40 hours per week), Day Shift, 6:55 AM - 3:25 PM, Monday - Friday

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Our Carpentry staff contribute to UW Medicine Patients Are First healthcare team by providing journey-level carpentry work in the maintenance and repair of facilities within the hospital.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

* Under general supervision, the individual in this role will perform journey-level carpentry work in the maintenance and repair of facilities within the hospital.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Install metal stud framing, install drywall, install wall protection including FRP, Acrovyn, and plywood, install doors, door frames and windows, install door hardware

* Repair walls, ceilings, screens, sashes, doors, furniture, fixtures, stairs, cupboards, windows and roofs

* Build, repair and install cabinets, patient furniture, staff furniture and casework

* Install wall hung fixtures such as; blood pressure gauges, chair exit alarms, cup-towel-toilet paper dispensers, shelving, bulletin boards, sharps containers, soap dispenser, hand gel dispensers, glove box holders and medicine cabinets

* Adjust, repair or replace locks, weather stripping, screens, mirrors, brackets, window blinds, curtain tracks, handrails, hinges, closures, panic hardware

* Operate power equipment such as saws, jointers, lathes, sanders, planers, boring and mortising machines; clean, sharpen, maintain and repair such equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a carpenter; or full journey status as a carpenter in a union; or four years' applicable work experience. Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$32.49 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$43.20 hourly
