About the Role

The Industrial Maintenance Electrician will perform skilled journey-level work including construction, troubleshooting, maintenance, and wiring of equipment at a wastewater collection and treatment facility. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance programs, working with other trades, and ensuring safety compliance in an industrial environment.

Job Duties
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on low (0-1000 V), medium (1 KV-72.5 KV), and high (72.5 KV-242 KV) voltage switch gear, transformers, and distribution systems, including power generation equipment.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on motor control centers and associated control devices.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair variable frequency and direct current drives.
  • Install, troubleshoot, reprogram, and modify programmable logic controllers; design and modify control circuits.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair of uninterruptible power supply equipment, including battery servicing.
  • Use thermal imaging to diagnose electrical equipment, create reports, and repair problems.
  • Schedule outages, coordinate activities, and perform electrical lockout/tagout plant-wide.
  • Write material requests for defective parts and spare parts inventory.
Qualifications You Bring
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training demonstrating journey-level status.
  • Three years of related journey-level experience in an industrial or manufacturing plant.
  • Knowledge of federal electrical codes, electrical theory, and ISA standards; ability to apply industry codes in design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Experience applying safety practices for low, medium, and high voltage, mechanical, and environmental hazards, including confined spaces.
  • Understanding of electrical distribution and generation equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, relays, disconnect switches, voltage regulators, transfer switches, and monitoring equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment functions (battery, control, automation, lighting, motor, heating, cooling) and troubleshooting skills with test equipment such as ammeter, megohm meter, multimeter, oscilloscope, tachometer, power quality analyzer, thermal imaging camera.
  • Proficiency with business applications, e.g., Microsoft Office suite.
Physical Requirement
  • Lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Work at heights from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
Workplace Exposures
  • Outdoor environment during wet weather; confined spaces.
Required Licenses
  • Valid, unencumbered Washington State Driver’s License.

Supplemental Information Working Conditions

Work Location: 1400 Discovery Park Blvd, Seattle, WA 98199. Employees must reside in Washington state and be able to respond to reporting requirements.

Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40‑hour week with 4‑10 hr or 5‑8 hr schedule options available. Overtime eligible and requires all shift schedules, reporting during adverse weather, and participation in a rotating call list after a 9‑month probationary period.
