Role Description

This is a full‑time on‑site role for an Installation Supervisor based in Seattle, WA. This position is a hybrid position that is composed of two distinct roles:

Each aspect of this position will have distinct functional responsibilities, required skills, and measures of success.

Functional Responsibilities
  • Attend internal team meetings to outline, define, & plan installation approaches.
  • Drawing on input from designers and lead fabricators, develop installation schedules that define Turner Exhibits and General Contractor resources (people and equipment), sequence of work, and milestones.
  • Create estimates for installation. Collaborate with clients to define installation methods and time requirements.
  • Develop information for and collect bids from installation subcontractors.
  • Prepare Site Safety Plans for each site mobilization.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Carry out site surveys and pre‑installation planning meetings with clients.
  • Research local resources (equipment and material suppliers, sub‑contractors).
  • Manage all installation‑related purchasing, including team travel, lodging, per diem, site consumables, and equipment rental.
  • Schedule and lead installation planning meetings.
  • Document installation methods during shop setup and testing.
  • Plan and manage packing. Review shipping manifests.
  • In the shop, contribute to project setup and testing in order to fully test exhibits and kinetic architecture systems.
  • Document shop mockups by red‑lining plans, taking photos and video, and saving these to appropriate network files.
  • While on site, represent TE to clients and contractors.
  • Communicate Site Safety Plan to all install participants.
  • Work as an installation supervisor and/or installer. Direct the work of other TE installers, or the work of labor supplied by the client.
  • Monitor, control, and communicate changes to schedule, scope, and budget, should any occur. Communicate updates to the project manager, account partner, and as needed, the client.
  • Track actual hours and activities of team. Document departures from plan or schedule for customer communication.
  • Monitor and control installation schedule, scope, and costs.
  • Monitor and control quality.
  • Contribute to project closeout process. Participate in a project closeout meeting: collect information about what went right and wrong and define ideas for change and improvement.
  • Identify ways to improve team performance and customer satisfaction.
What you will need to succeed
  • Appropriate industry knowledge relevant to industry served (architecture, general contracting, exhibits).
  • Planning skills. Able to anticipate project needs, resource needs, and problems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills. Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, to delegate tasks and responsibilities clearly and effectively, and to prepare documents for internal and external recipients.
  • Strong leadership skills. Able to communicate with and lead diverse teams on site composed of both familiar and unfamiliar people, subcontractors, and situations.
  • Strong decision‑making skills. Able to assess conditions and situations on site and make clear and timely decisions. Able to act.
  • Calm, controlled demeanor. Able to de‑escalate issues/solve problems under pressure.
Additional requirements
  • Willingness to travel for site surveys and installs
  • Valid WA state driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
  • Valid enhanced driver’s license or valid passport
  • Ability to work in Canada (no felony arrest history)
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds
