Be the expert behind a safe, reliable fleet. In this role, you’ll blend advanced diagnostics, hands‑on repair, and meticulous record‑keeping to keep our medium/heavy‑duty vehicles road‑ready and compliant.

- Your expertise upholds strict DOT and safety standards across our fleet.
- Systems diagnostics & repair:
Identify faults and repair steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking, drive trains, suspensions, clutches, transmissions, and oil/temperature/gas regulation systems. - Engine expertise:
Adjust, test, and rebuild engines per your qualifications and all applicable Federal, State/Provincial, and local requirements. - Test drives:
Road‑test during PM to investigate driver‑reported issues and post‑service to verify repairs. - Telematics:
Install, program, replace, and validate telematic devices to support fleet visibility.
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules for all assigned vehicles.
- Complete unscheduled repairs efficiently to reduce downtime.
- Handle road calls and on‑the‑road repairs as assigned.
- Document labor time, parts usage, and all work performed on a tablet or authorized forms.
- Maintain a safe, clean, productive bay meeting Federal, State/Provincial, local, and company housekeeping/safety requirements.
- Operate fully within DOT compliance and scope of duties.
- Work assigned shifts; overtime as needed.
- 5+ years of diesel fleet experience with heavy/medium‑duty vehicles.
- Minimum 5 years repairing autos, trucks, or buses.
- Experience adhering to locally applicable DOT rules for medium/heavy trucks.
- Computer literacy for fleet systems and documentation.
- Personal tools meeting recommended standards for Medium/Heavy Duty & Diesel technicians.
- Strong capability with computerized diagnostic equipment and software.
- Sound judgment and decisive problem‑solving.
- Background scheduling maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Willingness to work flexible schedules.
- CDL (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- ASEs in brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, A/C;
Master School Bus and/or Master Truck Technician preferred.
- ASE Automobile and Light Truck Certification Tests
