Short-Term Temporary Facilities Carpenter
The Building Operations Services Section (BOS) of the Facilities Management Division (FMD) is looking to hire two (2) Short-Term Temporary (STT) journey-level Facilities Carpenters, as well as create a list for future opportunities. We are looking for someone that cares about providing excellent customer service and enjoys working on a team. Our ideal candidate will have journey-level carpentry experience performing maintenance, repair, and construction work in large facilities.
In addition to performing general carpentry duties, roofing, masonry, and lock repair and maintenance experience or cabinet-making is highly desirable.
Short-term Temporary (STT) Carpenters will be assigned to assist the BOS carpentry team with temporary work related to return-to-office initiatives or other project-based work.
The work performed by an STT employee is temporary and short-term in nature, not to exceed 6 months or a specified hour limit each year. STT positions are non-exempt and overtime eligible and are ineligible for county benefits.
Qualified candidates who pass the initial application subject matter expert review will be invited to participate in an in-person interview and practical assessment of their skills. The interviews will be held within 1-2 weeks at the King County Chinook Building in downtown Seattle, WA.
