Marinsa Pacific is an OE distributor and authorized channel partner for Wabtec (formerly GE), providing engines known for reliability and performance. Marinsa Pacific’s engines range from 2,300 to 6,300 HP, meet EPA Tier 4 emissions standards without exhaust aftertreatment, and are designed for long service intervals.

These solutions allow customers to operate efficiently with engines capable of running up to 60,000 hours between major overhauls.

Role Description

The Journeyman Diesel Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Seattle, WA. This position focuses on performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on medium speed diesel engines and related systems for maritime customers. Day-to-day tasks include conducting scheduled and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing overhauls following manufacturer specifications. The technician will document work performed, maintain accurate service records, and collaborate with parts and service teams to ensure timely completion of projects.

The role also involves communicating with customers and internal stakeholders to explain findings, recommend solutions, and support safe, reliable vessel operations.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Diagnostics, Maintenance & Repair for diesel engines and related systems.
  • Experience with Preventive Maintenance practices, including inspections, adjustments, and component replacements.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control issues in marine diesel applications.
  • Customer Service skills to interact professionally with clients, explain technical issues clearly, and support customer satisfaction.
  • Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology, marine engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working with medium speed diesel engines or marine propulsion systems is highly beneficial.
  • Valid US Passport and willingness to travel; international travel possible.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
  • Commitment to safety, adherence to industry standards, and capability to work in shipyard or vessel environments.
