About this Role:
Serve as the technical expert for diagnosing, repairing, and enhancing a wide range of electronic systems used across Solid Waste Division facilities, and monitoring controls. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to perform system evaluations, modify existing infrastructure, and document changes. Design and implement custom solutions, fabricate and install specialized components, and coordinate with electricians to ensure system reliability and safety.
Provide training, maintain detailed records, and support cross‑functional efforts to improve infrastructure performance and compliance.

Responsibilities:- Perform maintenance and repairs on 0‑1000 volt systems, including switch gear, ancillary equipment, and flare station components.
- Troubleshoot and assess electrical power, lighting, control, and equipment to determine causes of failure.
- Repair damaged electrical equipment, panels, conduit, and conductors.
- Install electrical systems in new construction and modify or upgrade existing systems.
- Evaluate existing equipment, provide recommendations for future needs, and anticipate costs.
- Maintain current equipment with preventive maintenance measures and visual inspections.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic digital communication control systems, fans, pumps, and related equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power distribution systems, including lighting distribution and low‑voltage switching.
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, or installation of blower systems and industrial flares.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3 years of experience as a technical expert diagnosing and repairing electronic systems.
- Experience in electronic functions of heavy equipment, troubleshooting PLCs, blowers, and pumps.
- Experience in an industrial setting.
- Knowledge of federal, Washington State, and local electrical codes.
- Skill in installing complete electrical systems.
- Proficiency with electrical tools and hand/ power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical instrumentation and test equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA.

Qualifications:
- Experience with solar pumps.
- Experience with gas collection equipment electrical.
- Experience with motor and pump control programming.
- Experience as a Journeyman electrician.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- WA State Electrician (01) License.
Location: SWD Maintenance Facility, 201 SW 34th Street, Renton, WA. Travel to other transfer stations, including Cedar Hills and Bow Lake.
Union Representation: JCC L46 Electricians – T2C.
Physical Environment/Requirements: Must be able to work in confined spaces, outdoors in all weather, with noise and dust; lift at least 50 lbs at least once daily.
Schedule: 40‑hour workweek, Monday to Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; may require alternative schedules and weekend work. Overtime eligible with supervisor approval.
