Do electrical gremlins, intermittent faults, and elusive drivability issues bring out your best work? At Zūm CMX, your expertise keeps our buses and trucks safe, compliant, and ready to roll for students and their families.

In This Role, You Will
  • Diagnose across systems:
    Find and fix issues in steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking, drive trains, suspensions, clutches, transmissions, and oil/temperature/gas regulation components.
  • Perform engine work:
    Adjust, test, and rebuild engines within your qualifications, meeting all relevant Federal, State/Provincial, and local requirements.
  • Validate your work:
    Conduct test drives during PM checks to assess driver-reported concerns and again after service to confirm the repair.
  • Own telematics:
    Install, program, replace, and verify telematic devices to enhance fleet performance visibility.
Operations You’ll Support
  • Deliver scheduled preventive maintenance for the vehicles serviced by this facility.
  • Complete unscheduled repairs swiftly and accurately.
  • Respond to road calls and perform on-the-road repairs as needed.
  • Document time, parts, and all work performed using the work tablet or authorized forms.
Safety & Standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean, efficient bay aligned with Federal, State/Provincial, local, and company housekeeping/safety policies.
  • Execute all tasks within role scope and DOT compliance requirements.
  • Work the assigned shift; overtime may be required.
Must-Haves
  • 5+ years of diesel fleet experience with heavy/medium-duty vehicles.
  • At least 5 years repairing autos, trucks, or buses.
  • Working knowledge of locally applicable DOT compliance for medium/heavy trucks.
  • Computer proficiency for fleet management platforms and documentation.
  • Personal toolkit meeting recommended standards for Medium & Heavy Duty/Diesel technicians.
  • Strong experience with computerized diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Good judgment and decisive problem-solving.
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance (daily/weekly/monthly).
  • Ability to work flexible schedules.
Nice to Have
  • CDL (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
  • ASE certifications in brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, A/C;
    Master School Bus and/or Master Truck Technician are a plus.
Proficiency
  • ASE Automobile and Light Truck Certification Tests
