AboutThe Division:
Seattle Parks and Facilities Maintenance Division performs maintenance at over 25 miles of boulevards, 465 parks, including 26 community centers, 8 indoor swimming pools, 2 outdoor (summer) swimming pools, 4 environmental education centers, 2 small-craft centers, 4 golf courses, and an outdoor stadium. We place strong emphasis on providing excellent customer service to the public, clients, and staff to ensure public safety and enjoyment while they are at SPR facilities and parks.
PositionDescription:
Seattle Parks & Recreation Facilities Maintenance is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Senior Electrician vacancy. All general maintenance of Parks owned buildings, structures, community centers, swimming pools, wading pools, fountains, spray parks, playgrounds, docks, boat ramps, etc. are covered by the unit.
The Senior Electrician will be the senior lead for a crew of up to eight electricians, one electrician apprentice and temporary electrician employees. This position will set priorities and assign work to the crew, while coordinating with the other shops and work groups within the division, inspecting completed work for compliance with electrical and local standards, workmanship, and neatness. You will report to the Electrician Crew Chief.
We are currently recruiting for one (1) regular, benefited position on the Day Shift between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on a 4-day, 10-hour shift.
- Lead, schedule & assign daily work orders; determine priorities based on available crew members.
- Review blueprints, electrical schematics, project plans and specifications of electrical equipment installations.
- Diagnose & repair malfunctions in electrical equipment or control systems such as boilers, pumps, generators, air compressors, frequency drives, fire alarms, & indoor/outdoor lighting.
- Work with computerized systems such as automated lighting control systems.
- Install lighting, power outlets, and controls for equipment;
Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical equipment. - Use the Asset Management Work Order system to update and close work orders, document completed work, and track maintenance activities.
- Coordinate work activities with skilled trades and other Parks staff to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and completed projects.
- Change lamps & ballasts in fluorescent / H.I.D. fixtures. Troubleshoot/replace LED chip assembly & drivers.
- Coordinate and manage electrical projects of varying scopes and complexity, including scheduling work, identifying and addressing project challenges, and developing effective solutions.
- Install conduit and pull wire in new and existing electrical installations.
- Compile material lists for scheduled and preventive maintenance and repairs, as well as new construction items needed to upgrade various facilities.
- Contact vendors, distributors, and manufacturers to determine pricing & availability to procure & order necessary materials.
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for electrical projects including labor, materials, supplies.
- Prepare cost estimates and inspect completed projects.
- Maintain record of preventative maintenance schedules using SPR Computerized Maintenance Management System to track & manage workflow.
- Complete small repair requests on short notice.
- Monitor and inspect work completed by outside contractors.
