Job Overview

We are seeking a Supportive Housing Specialist to work with our Co‑Occurring and Opiate Use Disorder programs. The role focuses on client advocacy, support in obtaining community services, and ensuring quality, cost‑effective behavioral health services within our Residential Services Division.

Responsibilities
  • Provide coaching, education, support, and skill‑building for individualized housing stability and community integration goals.
  • Deliver services using SAMHSA Evidence‑Based Practices and maintain a fidelity model for Supportive Housing.
  • Operate from a peer‑informed, person‑centered lens, honoring participant choice and self‑determination.
  • Ensure services are strengths‑based, trauma‑informed, and respect participants’ dignity and lived experience.
  • Screen individuals for eligibility, complete Housing Needs Assessments, and support participants with lease negotiations and housing assistance documents.
  • Assist with move‑in coordination, budgeting, organization, time management, and community resource navigation.
  • Provide guidance on benefits applications, housing applications, SSI/DSHS documentation, food and transportation resources, and referrals.
  • Maintain frequent communication through home visits, office visits, phone calls, and outreach for disengaged participants.
  • Build positive relationships with landlords and support both parties in maintaining stable housing.
  • Ensure each participant has a signed agreement and supportive service plan, providing updates and discharge recommendations.
  • Update and maintain data collection, reporting systems, and clinical documentation within state and federal requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams for community placement and wraparound support.
  • Serve as liaison between Pioneer Human Services and community housing programs, including coordinated entry and local housing authorities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with landlords, housing authorities, behavioral health providers, and community agencies.
  • Provide education to community partners about Supportive Housing practices and participant rights.
  • Interpret and explain housing policies, rules, and regulations as needed.
  • Write clear, professional, concise reports and correspondence.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect with coworkers, participants, and partners.
  • Monitor housing service delivery for adherence to person‑centered, trauma‑informed, and strengths‑based practices.
  • Maintain credentials in good standing with the WA Department of Health.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, supervision, and certifications (CPR & First Aid within 90 days of hire).
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development, with a goal of at least two trainings or conferences per year.
Compensation and Benefits

New hires typically start between $26.00 and $32.50 hourly/annually, based on location, experience, and other factors.

Eligible after 30 days of full‑time employment (minimum 30 hours/week):

Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience is acceptable.

  • AA degree in a related field (Human Services, Business Administration, Social Work, Public Health, Criminal Justice, etc.).
  • At least 2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges.
