The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is seeking two highly motivated individuals to join our team as Victim Advocates on our Victim Services team. This cross-trained position will provide comprehensive advocacy services to victims of crime in both the Domestic Violence and Violent Crime Units, ensuring victims are informed, supported, and engaged throughout the criminal justice process. The Victim Advocate will serve as a vital link between victims, prosecutors, and community resources, ensuring that victims' rights, safety concerns, and voices are heard and upheld.
Advocates will provide trauma-informed, victim-centered services, including crisis intervention, safety planning, information regarding the criminal justice process, court accompaniment, and referrals to community-based services. This position is designed to provide flexible support across both units and will be cross-trained to work with a variety of crime victims and case types. Assignments and work locations may be adjusted based on operational and business needs, staffing levels, and service demands to ensure continuity of victim-centered services.

Work Location:
King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104 (1 position) and Maleng Regional Justice Center, (MRJC) 401 4th Ave N, Kent, WA 98032 (1 position). While the position may be based at MRJC, the expectation is that staff in these roles will have the flexibility to support both Kent and Seattle locations depending on business needs.
Work Schedule:
This position works a 40-hour work week schedule, normally Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is eligible for King County's generous benefits package. Employees assigned to this position enjoy a hybrid work schedule that allows telecommuting, with a minimum of 2-days in office per week, subject to business needs and a telecommuting agreement. If a successful candidate is new to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, they will be required to work in office four days a week for the first six months of employment.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. Salary:
Range 51 - $39.81 (step one) - $50.47 (step ten)

25 per hour less than the hourly salary table due to a mandatory contribution toward the Teamsters Pension Trust that was voted by members of the collective bargaining agreement between our office and Teamsters Local No. 117. This contribution is made by the employee and after two years it is paid by the employer.
